Three days of snowshoeing in the fantastic Val da Camp, guests of the beautiful Saoseo Refuge, located near the wonderful natural lake of the same name, immersed in an enchanted forest of massive stone pines. Superb snow-capped panoramas, frozen lakes and peaks exceeding 3000 m will accompany us during our excursions into the wild nature of the Swiss Alps. During the three days there will be various training sessions on risk awareness in a snowy environment and demonstration of the use of emergency equipment (avalanche transceiver, shovel and probe). Difficulty: WT1-WT2 Altitude difference: approximately 500-600 D+ per day Duration: 3 days Packed lunches, dinners in the refuge The fee includes: accompaniment with a UIMLA International Mountain Leader Professional Guide, planning and management of the excursion, training on the correct progression with the use of snowshoes and poles, notes on the flora, fauna and geology of the surrounding environment, demonstration of the use of beacon-shovel -probe, customer accident insurance, recovery insurance, satellite messaging in case of emergency. The fee does not include: half board in the Saoseo Hut, packed lunch, costs for any shared transport, equipment rental, anything not included in the item "the fee includes". Mandatory material: Waterproof boots or walking boots, no sneakers; Ski trousers or waterproof trouser covers; Ski gloves; Hiking backpack with a minimum capacity of 20lt with wide shoulder straps, ergonomic backrest and waist belt for weight distribution; Clothing in relation to the season and the weather, in any case it is always advisable to dress in layers; Change of shirt, socks, underwear; Rain jacket; Down filled comforter; Hat and gloves (+ 1 pair of spare gloves); Snowshoes (available for rental); Sticks with washer; Artva, shovel and probe (available for rental); Front light; Sheet bag for overnight stay in the refuge (it is possible to purchase the disposable one in the refuge); Personal hygiene kit; Mandatory minimum water reserve of one and a half liters, mineral salts and/or supplements recommended; Thermos for hot drinks; Food to your taste and liking. For equipment rental it is necessary to notify a few days in advance. What you could add to your backpack: A small microfiber towel; First aid kit with blister plasters; Personal glass;
Jour 1
Arrival by car in Sfazù (Poschiavo) and ascent with snowshoes to the Saoseo Refuge of the Swiss Alpine Club, passing through Lake Saoseo. Dinner and overnight at the refuge.
Jour 2
Excursion in the enchanting Val Mera, admiring the mass of the Corn da Camp, which dominates the gentle slopes of the valley. The itinerary is subject to verification of the stability conditions of the snow cover.
Jour 3
Climb to the Val Viola Pass (border with Italy), admiring the fantastic views of the lake of the same name, Piz Paradisin, Corno di Dosdè and Val Viola Bormina. Return to the refuge and descent to the cars for the return. The itinerary is subject to verification of the stability conditions of the snow cover.
