Expedition to Cordon del Plata (5.968 m) in the Andes. Vallecitos Range, near Mendoza (Argentina). Trip to the beautiful Valley of Vallecitos. Perfect for experienced hikers who like to start with high altitude mountaineering. The expedition requires a minimum of 4 participants. The Client-Guide-Ratio is 4:1. Languages spoken: Spanish, English, German
Giorno 1
We meet in the City of Mendoza and get transferred to Vallecitos (3000 m). There we start our hike to Camp 1, we reach the first camp after 1,5 hours of walking. This is good for acclimatizing and we setup our tents and cook some mountain style menu. Overnight stay in tent at Camp 1.
Giorno 2
After breakfast we disarm our camp and hike up higher to Camp 2 at around 4.300 m. This will be our base for 2 nights to get our bodies acclimatized. We enjoy the mountain scenery, prepare our meals and sleep well.
Giorno 3
This day is our rest day to get our bodies acclimatized to the high altitude. All meals in Camp 2, overnight stay.
Giorno 4
Time to move higher up. We disarm the camp and trek to Camp 3. This is our highest altitude Camp at 4.650 m. We stay there overnight and head the next day to the summit of Cordon del Plata (5.968 m).
Giorno 5
Very early in the morning we start our hike to the summit of Cordon del Plata (5.968 m). At the summit with almost 6.000 m of altitude, we have unforgettable views of the Andes. We descend the same way back to Camp 3 and stay another night there.
Giorno 6
After breakfast we disarm camps and do a long descent down to Vallecitos. We will get picked up and transferred back to the City of Mendoza. End of expedition.
