Husky sledding tour - beginner

The Alta River dog sledding experience is centered around immersion and the exclusivity of Arctic wilderness. This is an adventure that will be the envy of others as you enter our world. Driving a sled along the Alta river - one of the greatest salmon fishing rivers in the world - you witness not only the wonders of the Arctic winter​,​ but also hear the tales of the destined Arctic summer. Going above and beyond the normal notion of travelling​,​ this experience allows you to collect unique moments as you embark on a journey through the spectacular landscape that is our backyard. Equipment handout upon arrival to Holmen Husky. - Approximately a 3-hour dog sledding experience - Arrival to a traditional Sami Lavvo where we will serve hot drinks and snacks - River Lunch Don’t forget that this is the Arctic and nature here is on steroids. We provide the proper clothing you need for an experience in the rugged landscape​,​ but we recommend that you bring the following items with you to make your adventure even more comfortable. After all​,​ we want you to completely immerse in the experience without having to worry about anything else. - Sunglasses​/​goggles - Long-underwear​/​warm baselayer (preferably wool) - Camera Age restrictions: The minimum age to participate in this experience is 12 years old. - 13 - 15-year-old children are allowed to sit independently on the cart and can drive independently under the supervision of a guide. - The minimum age for driving solo is 16 years old Disclaimer: Alaskan huskies are polar animals and weather conditions​,​ specifically warm temperatures​,​ create situations unsafe for them to run in. Holmen Husky​,​ therefore​,​ reserves the right to cancel trips if the temperatures become unsuitable for our dogs. The weather can be extreme at times in this part of the world and we reserve the right to change an itinerary or cancel a trip if the conditions appear to be unsafe.
