Two days of trekking in Alta Engadina, in the fantastic location of the Forno Valley, among 3000 m peaks, beautiful lakes and valleys, welcomed by the Capanna del Forno, located in a super panoramic position on the glacier and the head of the valley, with its wonderful peaks. Nature, beauty and places rich in charm and history will accompany us in the discovery of this corner of Engadina! Cost: €250 (min. 3, max 10 participants). It is possible to repeat the event even on non-calendar dates, upon request of the client. The fee includes: - Professional UIMLA International Mountain Leader Guide - planning and management of the trek - half board in the refuge - notes on the flora, fauna and geology of the surrounding environment - demonstration of the correct walking technique on the terrain encountered - customer accident insurance - use of satellite messaging in case of emergency The fee does not include: - transportation costs - packed lunches - alcoholic beverages and soft drinks - personal expenses - anything not expressly indicated under "the fee includes" Meeting point: 10:00 in Maloggia, CH. (Possibility to agree to share the trip by car). The customer must show up at the meeting point or at the starting point of the excursion at the time indicated during the communication that will follow after registration. Mandatory material Shoes or boots, no trainers; Hiking backpack with a minimum capacity of 30 litres with wide shoulder straps, ergonomic back and waist belt for weight distribution; Clothing in relation to the season and the weather, in any case it is always advisable to dress in layers and with long trousers; Rain jacket; Light down jacket; Gloves and hat; Water reserve of at least one and a half litres mandatory, it is recommended to have mineral salts and/or supplements; Linen sleeping bag for sleeping in the refuge; Personal hygiene kit; Headlamp; Food to your taste and liking. What you could add to your backpack: Spare t-shirt and socks; A small microfiber towel; First aid kit with blister plasters; Personal drinking cup;
Day 1
Day 1 | Maloggia - Capanna del Forno Departure from the Orden car park (Maloggia), towards Lago di Cavloc. A short stop to admire this splendid body of crystalline water and then we resume the march, entering the Forno Valley. Depending on the conditions we can follow the classic path or the panoramic one for access to the Capanna. The surrounding panorama is truly splendid, with the wild peaks of the numerous 3000 that form the head of the valley and the Forno Glacier that winds beneath the refuge. The arrival at the hut is scheduled for late afternoon, just in time to enjoy a good beer before sitting down for dinner! Dinner and overnight stay in the hut. Day 2
Day 2 | Capanna del Forno - Sella del Forno - Passo del Muretto - Maloggia After a good breakfast, departure for our second day of trekking! We climb towards the Sela del Forno and, once we have reached and admired the view of the beautiful N face of Disgrazia, we do not go down into Italy but climb again towards Monte del Forno, until we reach a saddle at about 3000m above sea level. Surrounded by an ever-magnificent panorama, we begin our descent, between scree and scree, crossing the border into Italian territory towards the Muretto pass. The pass is a place rich in history and charm and we will be able to breathe these sensations while enjoying a relaxing lunch break. After having refreshed ourselves, we will continue the descent until we take the path from the previous day that will take us back to the parking lot.
