Snowshoeing experience - beginner

Among the most fascinating activities that can be practiced in winter​,​ snowshoeing certainly occupies a prime position! You will experience an immersion in an enchanted white world​,​ where silence and peace will surround you​,​ making you forget the hustle and bustle of the city. In the larch forests​,​ you will be accompanied by ski instructors and nature guides who will narrate the history of our trails​,​ the paths of our predecessors​,​ and the anecdotes that our territory jealously preserves. The excursion starts with the meeting in the afternoon at the church square in Claviere. Here you will be provided with the equipment (snowshoes​,​ poles and headlamp). You will then reach the snow front where the activity starts. You will immediately plunge into a white world​,​ surrounded by larch and pine trees​,​ until you reach a fantastic forest path​,​ the Cippo Vinçon. Your efforts will soon be rewarded by the brightness of the starry sky above you​,​ which will accompany you until you arrive at Baita Gimont​,​ where Mariano and Mariana will welcome you with their kindness and sympathy. The day starts with the meeting in the morning​,​ at Bousson​,​ a pretty high mountain village. Here you will be provided with all the necessary equipment (snowshoes and poles). The excursion will start from the hamlet​,​ which will give you the time to easily get used to the snowpack conditions. You will continue with a gentle ascent along a completely snow-covered road​,​ surrounded by thick forests​,​ ancient ruins and wild animals. After a few kilometers you will reach the Black Lake​,​ which is frozen in winter​,​ a natural spectacle at an altitude of more than 2000m. All your efforts will be rewarded by this view and​,​ for the most hungry​,​ there will be the possibility of lunch in one of the oldest alpine refuges in Italy​,​ Capanna Mautino. The adventure will take place under the sun​,​ for an intense and memorable experience: snowshoes​,​ a stop for a snack in a mountain hut and an enchanted forest all around you.
